Land Registry Compliant Lease Plans Explained
What is a Land Registry Compliant Plan?
A Land Registry Compliant Plan is also known as a title plan or lease plan. It is essentially a plan drawn in accordance to guidelines set by The Land Registry. It is registered with the Land Registry under the title number for that property.
The plan will therefore confirm who owns what part of the property. It is advisable for purchasers to check this prior to purchase, although solicitors do check this as part of their searches on a property.
1. When is one needed?
Essentially any sale of freehold title or leasehold title lasting seven years or longer must be registered with the Land Registry.
